Yes, we are watching Wimbledon

Posted by jeff smith on July 1, 2012

Weirdly, finding a bar that, simultaneously was showing Wimbledon and had the AC on was difficult in Nice.  Luckily, we found one.

Of course, behind us (about 150 meters) is the beach.

The Coast of Marseille

Posted by jeff smith on June 28, 2012

Had a great dinner on a boat in the harbor.  Took a quick tour before dinner.  Unfortunately, couldn’t find the Jimmy Buffett song to play at dinner …

At Alice and Randy’s pool house

Posted by jeff smith on June 23, 2012

It’s good to know people when you travel :-).  Kristi and I arrived without major disruptions.  Trip involved driving to Atlanta, flying to JFK (with a 75 minute circling because of weather in NYC and a fire at the air traffic control tower in Washington), flying to Nice, a bus to the train station, and a train to Aix-en-Provence.  Alice and Randy were waiting at the train station when we arrived — easy as cake.

First Beer in France

Posted by jeff smith on June 23, 2012

On the TGV from Nice to Aix.  Had quite a few of these last time we were here (and in Monaco).  Very tasty.  First time on the TGV — it was very easy and convenient.
